IMMERSE Seminar- Dominic Kao: Virtual Futures: Creating Virtual Worlds

Screens now mediate much of our daily life. My research asks how we can build effective virtual worlds--from games to virtual reality to AI-enhanced immersive systems. In this talk, I'll share key findings from my work on virtual identities, virtual reality, audiovisual feedback, AI, and games, and discuss emerging directions for this research.

IMMERSE Seminar - Mike Yao: Immersion as a Lens: Using VR to Understand Human Experience

Virtual reality (VR) and immersive media provide a unique experimental space for testing and extending psychological and communication theories. In this talk, I’ll walk through how immersive environments have been used to study human experience—not only as platforms for message delivery, but as media with their own psychological effects.
