IMMERSE Research Lab [NCSA 3103]
The IMMERSE Research Lab at NCSA 3103 is an interdisciplinary test-bed for immersive computing, driven by the IMMERSE affiliate community. Taking a multi-phase approach to development, Phase One [rolling out Summer 2025] offers foundational infrastructure including high-bandwidth (10 Gbps) networking, XR headsets representing major platforms, powerful workstations across Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems, basic media capture capabilities, and secure equipment storage. Pilot usage proposals will be accepted via the forms below as we ramp up hardware, software, and support models for broader availability starting in Fall 2025. Phase Two will expand hardware and software offerings based on the demonstrated needs of the community. This lab is built for you—engage with us and help drive the continuous evolution of the IMMERSE Research Lab.
