On April 4, 2025, IMMERSE hosted a series of engaging demonstrations at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) as part of the Engineering Open House. Designed as an outreach event for the local community, the showcase attracted nearly 500 attendees, including K–12 students, parents, educators, and members of the University of Illinois community. This year’s highlights included an interactive educational experience called EnergIze centered on physical, body-based learning, presented by Dr. Robb Lindgren’s Embodied and Immersive Technology’s lab. In addition, Chih-Hao Lin from Dr. Shenlong Wang’s group demonstrated several immersive 3D model simulations. IMMERSE also offered Meta Quest 3 headsets, allowing participants to explore a variety of VR-based educational experiences firsthand.
