Dr. Johnson-Glenberg is a Research Professor at Arizona State University, she has been with the Department of Psychology since 2009. She is also an entrepreneur, she has founded, or co-founded, three edu-tech companies with the help of multiple Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants and the Gates Foundation. In academia, she has been the Principal Investigator, or co-PI, on over a dozen private and public grants. The majority of her grants come from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and she has used those funds to create multiple innovative and embodied STEM education simulations and games. She works with a mixture of lab students and professional game studios to create award-winning XR content (eXtended Realities – augmented reality (AR), to mixed reality (MR) to virtual reality (VR). She recently finished an MR motion-capture experience (with an NSF AISL) called "Being Water". This large screen experience will be displayed in multiple science centers and museums throughout 2026. She actively researches and publishes on best design practices for mediated content and XR.
