XR90 is a holographic surgical navigation system that overcomes the limitations of the traditional 2D standard of care when navigating complex 3D anatomy. It provides a 3D view of patient anatomy alongside ultrasound imaging for minimally invasive, needle-based procedures. The holograms of the patient’s anatomy are generated from patient-specific CT scans, while the ultrasound probe and needle are tracked in real time using an electromagnetic tracking system to support operative planning and navigation. The “ultrasound flashlight” overlays the ultrasound image onto the physical plane where the data is being acquired in real time. This improves treatment efficiency and reduces cognitive and physical loads on clinicians. XR90 also enables remote collaboration for consultation and training purposes.
